Custom Character Candle Mold: Undercuts and Split Design
Plan the release of a character candle around arms, horns and other undercuts. Review the full geometry, seam location, wax and prototype checks before choosing the mold structure.

Character candle with horns, arms, and a held shape
Frame from the channel short. Horns, arms, and the shape across the chest.
A character candle mold needs a release path for every projecting feature. Arms, horns and a held object can affect where a slit, split or removable section is needed. Review the complete shape together with the wax and preferred seam location before confirming the mold structure and silicone selection.
If the question is the overall outline, use the brand candle silhouette page. Seam flash and a locked undercut are separated on the candle seam-line guide. Surface texture is the textured candle mold page. This page is the arms and the horns.
What the Frame Shows
The still at the top is one frame from that short. The character is full-3D, not a flat-back pillar. Horns leave the head. The arms leave the torso. Something sits across the chest, and the hands close around it. Pink and blue pours sit behind it. None of that is a Shore reading, a wax temperature, or a count of how many times the mold has opened.
Where the Split Sits
On the RUUIPON Mold Structure Decision, a flat back with mild draft can peel open-back. Horns, arms, and a held object need that path reviewed on the complete shape. A one-piece glove that only stretches can tear at an elbow or smear a face when those projections lock. One frame does not settle that for every character.
A slit is often planned on the back or the side when the face and chest should stay clear of the seam. Confirm that placement on the full geometry. A keyed two-part is the other option when the held object locks from both directions. A mother mold sits outside the skin only if the wet wax column sags the cavity while it cools. We would not raise hardness so an empty mold looks stiff on camera and then hope the arms still peel.
Typical Shop Checks
| Design check | Information to confirm | Validation reference |
|---|---|---|
| Release path | Complete shape, undercuts and proposed opening sequence | Reviewed geometry and agreed prototype checks |
| Material selection | Wax, use conditions and how the cavity is supported while it cools | Selected material information and project review |
| Held object | Parting planned around the hands | That every pour leaves the hands clean is not shown in one frame |
A hard pillar blend and a soft container wax do not leave the same undercut. Send the wax. Do not send the temperature slogan from the overlay.
Captions That Stay Off the Quote
The video provides a visual reference for the application. Material, mold structure and any required verification are confirmed for the actual project. Please identify the dimensions, casting material and acceptance requirements when requesting a similar mold.
RUUIPON pours the RTV tool in Bao'an, Shenzhen, and has since 2018. Production is MOQ 20 pieces per design. Simple 3D is USD 50 when that CAD scope applies. A prototype is 3-7 business days after CAD lock.
What to Send
- Front, side, and back, or a file, with height and the widest point including horns and elbows.
- Where the face is, and where a seam may sit.
- Wax type.
- Whether a wick has to stay on center. That cut is wick hole design.
- Prototype quantity, then production quantity.
The product page is custom silicone candle molds. Shop scope is the Shenzhen manufacturer page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the candle in the video a bear?
The title says bear. The frame we are using shows horns, a snout, arms, and a held shape. Send the candle you actually want. We do not build the mascot from the title.
Can this be a one-piece mold?
Only if every horn, arm, and held edge peels without a tear. Most full-3D characters do not.
Will a harder silicone save the arms?
Harder rubber usually makes that peel worse. The slit comes first.
Do the pink and blue candles mean you stock those colors?
No. Color in the background is a sample pour, not a catalog.
Can you start from this still?
A still is enough to see the undercuts. Dimensions still have to arrive before the split is locked.
