Custom Branded Candle Mold: Shape and Release Planning
Turn a branded candle shape into a mold brief. Define the silhouette, full dimensions, presentation face, wax and release requirements before choosing the production structure.

Custom candle mold for a brand shape
Platinum RTV candle tray for a signature silhouette - hot-wax release, not a catalog SKU.
A branded candle mold should preserve the intended shape while allowing practical filling and release. Start with the complete geometry, finished size and main presentation face. Then review seam placement, wick access and any support needed during cooling before selecting the mold structure and material.
Seam flash, registration, and wax sticking are a different diagnosis. Those sit on the candle seam-line guide. Undercuts on a character sit on the character candle mold page. Surface texture sits on the textured candle mold page. This page stays on the overall silhouette.
What the Clip Is Selling
A brand candle mold is an RTV cavity sized to one outline: bark, figurine, signature pillar, or another face you own. On the RUUIPON Mold Structure Decision:
- flat back and mild draft → open-back peel;
- deep undercuts on ears, arms, or bark ridges → slit or keyed two-part, with seam placement reviewed against the main presentation face;
- large wet wax mass that sags the skin → mother mold / support shell outside the rubber.
The short can show a clean pour. It cannot show cycle life, a universal Shore, or “no leak forever.”
Silhouette Before Shore
Send the finished candle height and the widest section first. Then mark the release direction. Material comes after the silhouette, the release direction, and any support the cooling wax needs.
Geometry and the selected compound are confirmed together. We would not raise hardness only so an empty mold looks stiff on camera.
Typical Shop Checks
| Design check | Information to confirm | Validation reference |
|---|---|---|
| Release path | Complete shape, undercuts and proposed opening sequence | Reviewed geometry and agreed prototype checks |
| Material selection | Wax, use conditions and support while the candle cools | Selected material information and project review |
| Finished size | Height, widest section and presentation face | Approved master. This clip does not supply a shrink percentage |
| Wick center | Separate cut - wick hole geometry | A wick shown in a lifestyle still |
Wick placement has its own page: wick hole design.
We Would Not Quote the Caption
The video provides a visual reference for the application. Material, mold structure and any required verification are confirmed for the actual project. Please identify the dimensions, casting material and acceptance requirements when requesting a similar mold.
A candle mold is not a food-contact tool because the rubber is silicone. Do not price a multi-cavity sheet from one silhouette still, and do not promise zero flash or a cycle count from one demold.
RUUIPON pours the RTV tool in Bao'an, Shenzhen, and has since 2018. Production is MOQ 20 pieces per design. Simple 3D is USD 50 when that CAD scope applies. A prototype is 3-7 business days after CAD lock.
Send This With the Candle
- Finished height and the widest section, or a photo with a scale.
- Wax type or blend, and whether the pour is hot pillar or a soft container wax.
- Where the hero face is, and where a seam may sit if a slit is required.
- Whether the wick must stay centered.
- Prototype quantity and first production quantity.
The product page is custom silicone candle molds. Shop scope is on the Shenzhen manufacturer page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the mold in the video a catalog SKU?
No. The short is a custom cavity for a brand silhouette. Catalog pillars are a different buy.
Do I need a two-part mold for every brand candle?
No. Flat-back pillars often peel one-piece. Undercuts and full-3D faces usually need a slit or a keyed split.
Will harder silicone stop leaks at the pour?
Not by itself. Leak and flash follow closure, support, and fill height. Harder rubber can make a character peel worse.
Is a candle mold food-contact?
Not from this clip. Candle wax is not a food pour. Food trays need their own compound and papers.
Can you start from a photo only?
Yes for a first review. Critical faces still need size and a clean reference before CAD lock.
